This past weekend, Righetti FFA took 25 students to the Made for Excellence and Advanced Leadership Academy FFA Conferences in Monterey, California. All of our members had an exciting time meeting other members across the state, learning how to be great leaders, and getting to know the State FFA Officer Team. A day prior to the conference, the group went to the Monterey Bay aquarium where they learned about various underwater research projects and sea animals. During the FFA conferences the students learned communication skills, how to improve their confidence and find adventure wherever they go.

Eddie Muñoz, a freshman said, “MFE was a fun experience meeting new people and learning how to be a better leader.” Carmella Torres attended ALA and said, “My favorite part of ALA was meeting new people and gaining leadership qualities through fun activities.”

Every year, Righetti FFA along with Santa Maria FFA and Pioneer Valley FFA hold a annual joint meeting at Santa Maria High School. What this joint meetings purpose is to get the 3 schools in the distract and bring their chapters together for the holidays. This annual meeting was held on December 12th and it was a blast! There was games, activites, photo opportunities, free food and so much more. Our chapter also had some successful wins last night with the activities. There even was a snowball fight after the fun! This year, the city of Santa Maria held its annual Parade of Lights. This event was held on December 1st and of course our chapter participated in the parade. We had a big turn out and had many students show up. Our members all had a good time smiling and waving at the city of Santa Maria. One of our members, Tate Bradley, said, “ I had a very exciting time at the Parade of Lights! Getting to participate in such a fun event was awesome. I even got to be on TV!” We also had some of our members clean up after the parade was finished. They even got free pizza afterwards. Thank you to our members who participated!
