Righetti FFA had another successful year at the 2019 Santa Barbara County Fair. Righetti FFA members showed market sheep, market hogs, market steer, replacement heifers, and rabbits. We had our members place in various market and showmanship categorizes throughout the fair. Those who placed in the swine division were Hannah Pope with 5th place in Novice Showmanship, Audrey Herrera with 3rd place in Novice Showmanship, Penelope DeLaCruz with 1st Place Market Class Crossbred, Bailey Kober with 1st place in Market Class AOB, Max Guerra with overall FFA Reserve Grand Champion in Swine, and Eddie Munoz with overall FFA Grand Champion Swine and 3rd place in Advanced Showmanship. The one who place in the Sheep Division was Martha Verboonen with Reserve Breed Champion. Those who placed in the Beef Division was Chris Vargas with 4th Place Market Steer Class, Regan Fowler overall FFA Reserve Champion Replacement Heifer, and Kayla Minetti with 1st Place Advanced Beef Showmanship, 2nd Place in Market Class, and Reserve Champion Local Bred Market Steer. All of our members benefited from raising and showing an animal for fair. Raising an animal is a great experience and helps you develop responsibilities and qualities of leadership. “I had an amazing time at this years fair, it was successful and I was happy to teach others how to show and raise a lamb, and it’s a memory that can never be recreated.” -Enrique Hernandez Righetti FFA
